Avanti is a challenging solo flute piece incorporating numerous extended techniques for flute, simultaneously accompanied by an off-stage (preferably amplified) flute head joint. The head joint is a highly improvised part but is very specific in the score as to when it is present. This piece - written & performed by Sheridon Stokes - is a structured, percussive, and beautifully evolved contemporary work.
